Is the topic addressed in the foreign context is somehow present in our current/ local context: How similar or different is perceived by the local people? How is represented in the local context? Through an expression, activity or by someone? Is the expression or person recognizable by the people here and now? These questions can help us to identify what the exhibition visitors know.

Some considerations during this moment:
- It is highly recommended to collaborate with people who are related to the context where the expression is located.
- A current/ local context, refers to our contemporary society. This concept will help us later while identifying the visitors.
- An expression can be an artefact, an activity or a scenario. An artefact is an object, like a mug used for drinking. An activity can be ceremonies or rituals like hunting or dances. A scenario could be a natural disaster or phenomena like a full moon.
- This is based on the idea of an expression tangible or intangible. Tangible expressions can be traditional craftsmanship, artefacts, objects, buildings, places/ landscapes or monuments. Intangible expressions can be Performing arts, oral tradition, social practices, rituals or festivities, knowledge or practices concerning nature or universe.
- In some cases, an expression can be tangible and describing something intangible. For this reason, the expression path is divided into three possibles types: Its reality as an activity or scenario; its involvement in an activity or scenario or if is describing an activity or scenario.
- It could be possible that a shared could be represented in the foreign context with an expression, and in the local context with a person or vice-versa. This is okay, as long as the connection can be established and justified properly.
